The Hat Trick

The Hat Trick

A new recruit gets a letter promising excellent employment prospects in the big city. But what is all cosy glow from the outside becomes oppressive and confusing once within. Those in the know - and in with the 'pig' corporations which line the streets - get a hat, the bigger the better.

Our hapless hero ignores the signs of others, warning him the streets may not be paved with gold and ploughs on regardless, sporting a dapper, if teensy, bowler, in an attempt to make it. But things are seldom what they seem.

This is a very stylish little animation, drawing on influences including Escher to create an urban landscape which promises much to the unwary but delivers little. Humourous but with a sinister undertone, it is made complete by a very catchy soundtrack from Alex Eckford.
